Microsoft announces new features for Teams

US tech giant Microsoft has announced that it has updated Teams with new features to make it the “ultimate collaboration platform”. The Microsoft Teams app now includes an integrated Microsoft Loop feature and improved meeting planning for a more seamless experience.

Streamlined channel experience: According to the company, the Teams channel experience has been redesigned to make it easier for customers to use and navigate. One of the changes is a more familiar send and reply experience at the top, where people send and read new messages from the top.

Microsoft Loop: Microsoft Loop, a new app that promotes fast and dynamic collaboration using components, is now integrated into Teams conversations. You can now work directly on the Loop component without leaving the app, the company said in a statement.

Improvements to the design of meeting experiences: Improvements to the design of stage and presenter views help improve meeting experiences. You can now see meeting participants during the presentation, giving you full context and control.

New look: The new design features original materials, such as Windows 11 Mica, which helps Teams better blend into your workspace.

The color of the fabric has been changed from gray to white and the original purple Teams color has been chosen back to be more appropriate.

Group Profile Pictures and Themes: Group profile pictures and themes have been added to the new chat experience, allowing for deeper customization. Clear avatars or colors make navigation easier and give personality to the groups you interact with the most.

More expressive: The new Teams app has more collaborative and expressive features, such as the “together emoji,” which produces a playful animation when two people punch each other.

The app also offers new Teams backgrounds categorized by emotional states to allow users to express themselves in unique environments.
